GACA bans flights from, to Qatar
Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, and the UAE have cut their diplomatic relations with Qatar on Monday

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) prohibited all commercial and private airline companies registered in the Kingdom of directly or indirectly operating in Qatar, effective immediately.

Moreover, the GACA has also banned Qatari airline firms and aircrafts from landing in the Kingdom's airports and from crossing the Saudi airspace as of 6 June, according to a statement.

Regarding the airline companies and aircrafts unregistered in the Kingdom or Qatar that wish to cross the Saudi airspace to or from Qatar, those firms shall contact the GACA a week from now to know the required procedures to be able to operate across the Saudi airspace.

Other airlines, including Emirates and Etihad Airways, have also suspended flights between the UAE and Qatar until further notice.

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, and the UAE have cut their diplomatic relations with Qatar on Monday.

The Kingdom also closed land, sea, and air ports with Qatar due to security reasons, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, adding that this decision came to protect the country from terrorism and extremism.

The countries gave Qatari visitors and residents 14 days to return and diplomatic missions from Doha 48 hours, WAM news agency stated.
