Qatar seeks alternative resources to supplies

Mubasher: Qatar has launched two new shipping lines to Omani ports after other Gulf countries decided to cut relations with Doha, raising concerns over food supplies to Qatar, Reuters reported on Monday.

Last week, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, and Bahrain simultaneously decided to cut diplomatic as well as travel and trade ties with Qatar.

According to local importers, thousands of shipping containers destined for Qatar are still stuck at Dubai's Jebel Ali port.

Meanwhile, Iran and Turkey have flown in food supplies to Qatar as the gas-rich country seeks other sources, Reuters added.
