Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) closed Tuesday down, after losing 0.49% or 25.82 points to reach 5,195.12 points.

Al Batinah Power retreated 6.67%, followed by Bank Dhofar with 1.71%, and the National Bank of Oman (NBO) with 0.92%.

The services sector shed 0.53% as Sembcorp Salalah Power and Water Company decreased 0.91% and Oman Telecommunications (Omantel) tumbled 0.85%.

The financial sector went down 0.36% after United Finance and HSBC Oman levelled down 3.01% and 0.78%, respectively.

The industry sector inched down 0.08% as Voltamp Energy dropped 1.23% and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles Company declined 0.74%.

Trading volume decreased to 11.12 million shares on Tuesday against 17.6 million shares on Monday, while liquidity tumbled to OMR 2.78 million from OMR 3.16 million.
