EGP remains stable against foreign currencies on 1st day of Eid
Foreign currencies were mostly stable against the EGP early Sunday

Cairo – Mubasher: US dollar prices and other foreign currencies were mostly stable against the Egyptian pound early Sunday, the first of the Eid Al Fitr holiday.

The USD-EGP pair saw prices ranging between EGP 17.95 and EGP 18.08 for buying and around EGP 18.05 to EGP 18.2 for selling at local banks.

Average USD prices at the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) stood at EGP 18.04 for purchasing versus EGP 18.14 for selling, the bank said.

Meanwhile, HSBC offered the highest buy price for the pair at EGP 18.08, while the Agricultural Bank of Egypt offered the lowest sell price of EGP 18.05.

As for the euro, prices ranged between EGP 19.86 and EGP 20.17 for purchases versus EGP 20.49 and EGP 20.16 for selling.

Average CBE prices for the GBP amounted to EGP 22.86 for buying and EGP 22.99 for selling, while the Chinese yuan amounted to EGP 2.64 for buying, and EGP 2.65 for selling on Sunday.

Apart from buying and selling foreign currencies, banks across Egypt are closed from Sunday through Tuesday on the occasion of the Eid Al Fitr holidays. Banks will also be closed on Thursday, 29 June.
