Mubasher: The benchmark index of Boursa Kuwait closed Sunday’s trading session 0.3% or 20.4 points higher at 6,808.88 points, reaching its highest level in a month.

Similarly, both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices gained 0.22% and 0.25%, respectively.

The price index is expected to reach its target level of 6,895 points once it breaks 6,804 and 6,816 points, technical capital market analyst Nawaf Al-Oun said.

The main index is forecast to keep its positive performance if the situation in the GCC region remains stable and oil prices rise, technical capital market analyst Ibrahim Al-Filkawy said.

The financial services segment was the top gainer with a rise of 0.9%, backed by Arabi Group Holding which gained 19.08% to be the top winner.

Meanwhile, the oil and gas sector led decliners with a fall of 1.2%, dragged by Napesco which lost 2.91%.

The market’s liquidity grew to KWD 9.16 million on Sunday from KWD 9.02 million in the previous session, after the trading volume increased to 50.74 million shares from 50.28 million.

AUB was the most active stock on which 14.34 million shares were exchanged at a value of KWD 2.85 million, falling 0.48%.
