Cairo - Mubasher: Edita Food Industries has announced launching work at its new factory (E08) in 6th of October City, on a total area of 36,000 square metre, with 11 new production lines.

The company said in a statement on Sunday that the construction of the project was through two phases with the first being on an area of 22,000 sqm, consisting of five lines, including a wafer production line, which began with a capacity of 3,300 tonnes per year.

The wafer sector’s contribution to Edita’s total earning grew by 6% in the first quarter of the year, from 5% in Q1-16.

Edita’s market share in wafer grew to 8.9% as of February 2017, compared to 7.4% in the same period last year, the statement noted.

The company’s chairman and managing director, Hani Berzi, said that the new factory is the company’s fifth in the Egypt, and will allow it to introduce new products to the market.
