Mubasher: Acwa Power Barka said its profits increased 15% in the second quarter of 2017, compared to the same period in the previous year.

The Omani power company posted profits of OMR 3.6 million ($9.3 million) in Q2-17, compared to OMR 3.13 million ($8.1 million) in Q2-16, according to a statement to the Muscat Securities Market (MSM).

In the first half of 2017, the MSM-listed firm’s profits slid 54% to OMR 2.6 million, from OMR 5.6 million in H1-16.

Acwa Power’s revenues rose 5% to reach OMR 34.13 million in H1-17, compared to OMR 32.47 million in the corresponding period in the year earlier.

Acwa Power’s stock declined 1.79%, closing at OMR 0.79, on Monday.
