Mubasher: The main index of the Bahrain Bourse (BHB) closed near stable on Tuesday, pressured by the fall of three leading sectors, whereas Aluminium Bahrain’s (Alba) gains offset the decline.

The general index inched down 0.03% or 0.40 points to reach the level of 1,314.94 points.

Trading volume notably increased compared to Monday’s session, boosted by trading activity on Alba’s stock, which announced earlier today the resumption of work at one of its production lines.

Traded volume on the BHB rose 3.178 million shares at a turnover of BHD 758,508 on Tuesday from 2.9 million shares at BHD 607,402 on Monday.

The investment sector fell 0.58%, as GFH Financial Group and Al Baraka Banking Group retreated 1.67% and 1.18%, respectively.

The services sector edged down 0.07%, as Nass Corporation plummeted 3.03%, while the banking sector inched down 0.03%.

On the other hand, the industrial sector rose 1.37%, backed by Alba’s 1.41% rise.
