Bupa profits rise 40% in Q2

Riyadh – Mubasher: Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance achieved a growth of 39.9% in net profits during the second quarter of 2017 compared to the same period a year ago.

Earnings increased to SAR 145.77 million in Q2-17 from SAR 104.23 million in Q2-16, according to a bourse statement issued on Sunday.

The rise in Q2 profits is attributed to an increase of SAR 45.53 million in net earned premiums, as well as higher investments of SAR 39.65 million.

Surplus in operating transactions surged by 49.98% to total SAR 122.32 million in Q2-17 from SAR 81.86 million in Q2-16, the statement added.

In Q1-17, Bupa reported a decline of 49.5% in net profits to SAR 36.69 million from SAR 72.64 million in Q1-16.
