Suez Canal revenues rise to $447.1m in July
The SCA posted a 4.66% rise in profits for June 2017 on a monthly basis

Cairo – Mubasher: The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) on Tuesday posted a 4.66% rise in profits for June 2017 on a monthly basis to reach $447.1 million from $427.2 million in June 2017, according to a statement.

Revenues increased by 4.2% year-on-year in July 2017, versus $429 million in July 2016.

The SCA had reported earlier this month that its revenues grew to $2.93 billion in the period between January 2017 and July 2017 from $2.91 billion in the same period last year.

The authority stated that 2017 witnessed the recovery of world trade passing through the Suez Canal, as net revenues went up 3% or $62.2 million to $2.167 billion between March 2017 and July 2017 from $2.105 billion in the corresponding period in 2016.

The targeted revenues from the SCA total EGP 66.1 billion ($3.6 billion), according to the statement of the general budget for fiscal year 2017/2018.
