Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia recorded the lowest price for the internet per gigabyte, according to Delta Partners Analysis report.
The Netherlands has the highest internet price at SAR 39 per gigabyte, followed by Singapore, Canada, and the USA with SAR 37, SAR 31.5, and SAR 21.3, respectively, the report added.
The Saudi authorities have to reconsider the current prices of the internet, as the global average price is SAR 18 per gigabyte, while it is sold at a much cheaper price, Abdul-Rahman Mazi, the managing director of National Information Systems Company, said.
The Kingdom’s internet usage represents 6 to 7 times the global usage, Mazi added, noting that new regulations should be made to control the excessive use.
