Sales of KSA cement firms drop 16% during August 2017

Riyadh – Mubasher: The sales of the Saudi cement companies retreated 15.54% to 3.72 million tonnes during August 2017, compared to 4.4 million tonnes in August 2016.

Year-on-year, the total output of the country’s cement firms decreased to 3.79 million tonnes, from 4.3 million tonnes, according to Yamama Cement Co’s monthly report.

On the other hand, cement inventories rose 11.27% reaching 1.17 million tonnes during August 2017, compared to 1.05 million tonnes in the same month in the year earlier.

Southern Province Cement Company’s sales slid 26% to reach 471,000 tonnes during August 2017, compared to 637,000 tonnes in the corresponding month in the year before.

On a yearly basis, Yanbu Cement’s sales slightly fell 2.12% to 462,000 tonnes, from 472,000 tonnes.

Tabuk Cement’s sales levelled down 30.36% reaching 78,000 tonnes during August 2017, compared to 112,000 tonnes in August 2016.
