Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s exports to Belgium surged 25% to reach EUR 144 million during the first half of 2017, compared to EUR 115 million in the year-ago period, the Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil said on Friday.

The commercial exchange between the two countries increased 8.4% reaching EUR 802 million in H1-17, compared to EUR 740 million in H1-16, Kabil added.

The increase in iron and steel, equipment, machinery, wires, fruits, garments and ceramics exports contributed to rise Belgium's imports from Egypt, the head of the Egyptian Commercial Service Ahmed Antar indicated.
