Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday on a mixed note amid Arab selling.

The benchmark EGX30 index slipped 0.25% or 34.67 points to the level of 13,695.33 points.

The EGX70 index rose 1.88% to 762.71 points, while the EGX100 index grew 1.27% to 1,691.81 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index inched up 0.2% to 2,221 points.

Trading volume amounted to 353.17 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.12 billion through 31,100 transactions.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 732.4 billion, losing EGP 2.1 billion.

Blue chips including Citadel Capital, Egyptian resorts, and Porto Group Holding dropped 4.9%, 4.58%, and 4.35%, respectively.

On the other hand, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt (ADIB), Alexandria Mineral Oils Co (AMOC), and Orascom Telecom gained 9.92%, 1.92%, and 1.41%, respectively.

Foreign and Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 1.7 million and EGP 1.5 million, respectively, while Arab were net sellers with EGP 3.2 million.

Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) edged up 0.05% to EGP 81.8, with a turnover of EGP 93.2 million.
