Blue chips boost EGX30 above 13,600 pts; market cap gains EGP 2.3bn
EGX closed Monday’s session on a mixed noted

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s session on a mixed noted amid Egyptian and Arab buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose 0.49% or 67.23 points to the level of 13,674.42 points.

The EGX70 index slipped 0.11% to 770.76 points, while the EGX100 index inched down 0.01% to 1,703.74 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) shed 0.23% to EGP 81.5, with a turnover of EGP 87.12 million.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index added 1.15% to 2,249 points.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt (ADIB) topped blue chips with a 10% rise, followed by Egyptian resorts and Arab Cotton Ginning, which levelled up 9.76% and 6.62%, respectively.

On the other hand, Arabian Cement, Eastern Company, and Telecom Egypt fell 1.49%, 1.39%, and 0.64%, respectively.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 735.6 billion, gaining EGP 2.3 billion.

Trading volume stood at 397.4 million shares exchanged through 33,140 transactions at a turnover of EGP 1.12 billion.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 39.18 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 35.11 million and EGP 4.04 million, respectively.
