Riyadh – Mubasher: The Indian food exports to Saudi Arabia slid 25% in the previous two years due to the decline in oil prices, the director general of the State Organization for Development of Agricultural Exports and Food in India Sid Hacker said.

India’s food exports to the Kingdom exceed $1 billion annually.

Most of India’s food exports are rice, and Basmati rice, beef, fresh fruits, processed fruits, and sheep meat, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, citing Hacker as saying.

“The organization plans to increase food exports to the Kingdom,” Hacker noted during his visit to Riyadh Chamber at the head of a delegation of companies participating in Saudi Agricultural Exhibition.

India also plans to raise its food exports to the rest of GCC nation, Hacker concluded.
