Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) said it will provide technical short selling services during the coming period.

This step will be implemented to enhance liquidity of the listed securities or the futures which are related to these securities.

Technical short selling means selling the securities that are not owned by the sellers, but it must be provided during the settlement period T+2, and it aims to achieve profits through the prices’ variation, in case of prices' decline.

On Tuesday, 17 October, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) started providing technical short selling services.

Dubai-based, Al Safwa Mubasher was the first company to start technical short selling.
