Mubasher: Jazeera Airways achieved a year-on-year increase of 35.6% in profits to KWD 8.2 million ($27.15 million) in the third quarter of 2017.

Operating revenues grew by 16.8%, on an annual basis, to KWD 21.9 million in Q3-17, according to a recent statement.

During the first nine months of 2017, Jazeera Airways recorded a rise of 20.3% in profits to KWD 9.5 million, including a one-off KWD 2.4 million transfers from foreign currency translation reserve.

The company’s operating revenues increased by 5.9% to total KWD 46 million in 9M-17.

Jazeera Airways’ load factor was 80% in Q3-17, while it grew to 75.5% in the first nine months.

“Over the last two years we’ve invested heavily into initiatives to enhance and streamline our customers’ experience, both on ground and in the air,” Jazeera Airways chairman Marwan Boodai said.

He added, “We’re launching five new destinations in November and December, while we continue to develop our exclusive terminal at Kuwait International Airport to accept its first passenger in Q1, 2018.”
