Cairo - Mubasher: China’s Ankai won a contract to supply Alexandria with 15 electric buses, according to Al Mal newspaper.

A total of 17 global companies had purchased the book of specifications or bid requirements, while only five submitted a bid.

It is expected that Ankai will supply only one bus for a three-month trial, then supply the rest afterwards, according to the newspaper.

The Passengers Transport General Authority – Alexandria signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with BYD on 25 October 2017 in order to implement the monorail project, on eight phases, with a total of 128,250 km in length with build, operate, and transfer (BOT) system.
