Dubai - Mubasher: The UAE has lowered its ownership of US bonds and treasury bills (T-bills) by 3% in September to reach $54.3 billion, compared to $ 55.9 billion in August, data released by the United States Treasury Department showed.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s investments in US bonds and T-bills decreased 0.8% in September to $136.7 billion from $137.9 billion in August, according to the statement.
The Treasury Department’s monthly statements indicate Saudi Arabia’s investments in US bonds and T-bills only, but exclude other Saudi investments in the country whether governmental or private ones.
Similarly, China and Japan both reduced their bond holdings and investments in the US bonds and T-bills, the statement added.
