Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday’s trades in the green led by six sectors, achieving gains of QAR 4.03 billion.

The general index rose 0.38% or 29.87 points to 7,798.39 points. 

By the end of Wednesday’s trades, market capitalisation surged 97% to QAR420.46 billion, compared to QAR416.43 billion on Tuesday.

The real estate sector topped the gainers with 3.55% increase. Real estate developer Ezdan stock advanced 6.77%.

The industrial sector went up 1.16%, led by Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding climbing 8%.

Similarly, the banking sector jumped 0.14% on the growth of several stocks topped by Qatar National Bank rising 10%.

Meanwhile, the insurance sector dropped 0.53%, pressured by Qatar Insurance which fell 1.22%.

On Wednesday, liquidity decreased to QAR 213.39 million from QAR 337.78 million on Tuesday, while traded volume increased to 10.66 million shares against 8.91 million shares in the previous session.

Gulf International Services saw heavy trades soaring 6.32%, with a turnover of QAR 35.3 million through 2.4 million transactions.
