Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) extended its losses, ending Thursday’s trades in the red on the drop of four sectors with market losses of QAR 2.4 billion.

The general index decreased 0.72% or 55.93 points to 7,742.46 points.

By the end of Thursday’s trades, market capitalization went down 0.57% to QAR 418.06 billion, compared to QAR 420.46 billion on Wednesday.

The banking sector fell 1.07%, led by Al Khalij Commercial Bank dipped 3.48%, while Qatar National Bank (QNB) grew 9.98%.

Similarly, the real estate sector inched down 0.06%, pressured by Barwa Real Estate which fell 0.54%.

Meanwhile, the goods sector topped the QSE, jumping 1.52% led by Medicare Group which advanced 8.37%.

The industrial sector levelled up 0.11% on the rise of several stocks, topped by Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding surging 6.73%.

On Thursday, liquidity decreased to QAR 160.17 million from QAR 213.39 million on Wednesday, while traded volume decreased to 9.09 million shares against 10.66 million shares in the previous session.

Investment Holding Group, which inched up 0.19%, topped traded volume by 1.2 million shares, while QNB's stock saw a low liquidity of 1.83 % to QAR 19.3 million.
