Mubasher: German pilots have grounded more than 200 flights after refusing to be involved in the deportations of failed asylum-seekers, as reported by the Independent on Tuesday.

Flight crews reportedly did not want to participate in sending people back to Afghanistan, where violence remains a life threatening challenge.

From January to September, 222 flights were cancelled, with 85 of the disrupted flights belonging to Lufthansa and Eurowings.

According to the Independent, a similar case previously took place in the UK this year, when British Airways pilot refused to take off while an Afghan asylum seeker was on board.
