Mubasher: The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) said on Monday it would suspend a nationwide strike after securing worker demands through dispute resolution with the government and an oil firm, as Reuters reported.

The labour union, whose members are mostly managers in the upstream oil industry, began actions today over layoffs by a Nigerian oil and gas company.

“The strike has not been suspended for now but we are 100% sure it will be suspended,” said the general secretary of PENGASSAN, Lumumba Okugbawa.

It is worth notinh that Nigeria is Africa’s largest crude exporter and oil sales make up two-thirds of government revenue.
