Cairo – Mubasher:  Italian oil major Eni on Sunday unveiled plans to launch a 50-megawatt (MW) solar power plant in Abou Redis City in the Red Sea governorate, with total investments of $50 million.

During the last couple of days, Egypt's Electricity and Renewable Energy Ministry held a meeting to discuss the project’s execution schemes, according to Al Borsa newspaper.

The electricity ministry agreed on the sidelines of the meeting on forming a working group between the electricity and petroleum ministries, and Eni to study the project’s technical, economic, legal, and financial details, Al Borsa added.

Eni invited contractors to bid their offers for the plant for which 20 companies expressed their interest to participate, including Complete Energy Company, the Egypt-based newspaper reported.
