Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Co (DU) announced that it is ready to launch the 5th generation of mobile networks (5G), in line with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority’s (TRA) initiation of 5G technology in the UAE.

“We welcome the TRA’s vision regarding the initiation of the 5G in the UAE, and we are looking forward to making progress through launching this advanced technology in our pioneering country in this field,” CEO of DU Othman Sultan said.

On Monday, Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat), DU’s main competitor, has announced the successful launch of the first 5G Ultra-Mobile broadband experience in the region.

Furthermore, the TRA has launched the 5G technology yesterday to get ready for a fourth industrial revolution, according to a statement.

The TRA last said that mobile operators in the UAE are expected to start deploying 5G networks from early 2018.
