Cairo – Mubasher: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is scheduled to release the report of the second review of Egypt’s economic reform programme in the coming weeks, said head of IMF Mission to Egypt Subir Lall.

IMF will also release the 2017 Article IV consultation with Egypt, Al Mal News reported on Wednesday, citing Subir as saying.

In coordination with the IMF, Egypt implements its reform programme which includes restructuring tax policy and lifting energy and food subsidies.

In December 2017, the fund agreed upon disbursing the first tranche of the second instalment of a $12 billion three-year loan.

The IMF’s Executive Board affirmed that it had completed the second review of Egypt’s economic reform programme.

"The completion of the review allows the authorities to draw the equivalent of SDR 1,432.76 million (about US$2.03 billion), bringing total disbursements to SDR 4,298.29 million about US$6.08 billion", the fund stated.
