Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has announced signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Huawei to cooperate in the field of fifth generation (5G) wireless networks and technology.
Signed at the annual Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, the deal will help STC launch 5G services in Saudi Arabia in 2018, thus maintaining its leading position as a telecom operator and service provider in the kingdom, STC said in a bourse filing released Wednesday.
Earlier in February, STC announced signing an MoU with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and the General Sports Authority (GSA) to obtain the exclusive broadcast rights for local football tournaments.
