Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt is working on establishing 15 fourth generation (4G) new cities, Egyptian Television reported, citing Prime Minister Sherif Ismail as saying.

The new cities will locate in the new administrative capital, New Alamein City, new 6th of October city, Hadayek October, New Mansoura City, New Sheikh Zayed, Ismailia, Western of Port Said and Galala, the PM added.

The new projects will be also in New Obour, New Toshka, West of Assiut, West of Qena, New Mallawi, and new El Fashn, he said, giving no further details on their value or the time frame. 

The cities will feature sustainable energy standards, Ismail noted, concluding that the government is at pains to increase urban development area to 12% from 6% in a bid to accommodate the growing population.
