QSE hits 5-session low Sunday
The general index went down 55.68 points, or 0.67%, to close at 8,252.66 points.

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Sunday’s trading in the red for the fifth session in a row, dragged down by the fall of three sectors amid thin trades.

The general index went down 55.68 points, or 0.67%, to close at 8,252.66 points.

By the end of the session, the QSE’s liquidity decreased to QAR 125.22 million from QAR 137.24 million on Thursday, while the trading volume declined to 5.36 million shares against 7.68 million in the previous session.

The industrial sector topped the QSE’s losers falling 0.67% as Qatar National Cement levelled down 3.32%.

Similarly, the banking sector decreased 0.46%, pressured by Al Khalij Commercial Bank’s 5.68% slid.

On the positive side, the goods sector topped the market’s gainers adding 0.82% as Zad Holding Company surged 10%.

 Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which advanced 0.91%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 1.4% million shares, while Qatar Electricity and Water Company’s stock, which grew 0.35%, topped the bourse in terms of liquidity with QAR 14.6 million.
