QSE opens Thursday higher
The transportation sector topped the QSE’s six gainers adding 1.41%

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Thursday’s trading in the green, driven by the growth of six sectors.

By 10:05 am Qatar time, the general index grew 59.83 points, or 0.68%, to 8,810.15 points.

The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 106.6 million after 5.4 million shares changed hands through 1,100 transactions.

The transportation sector topped the QSE’s six gainers adding 1.41% as Qatar Navigation rose 2.99%.

The industrial sector went up 1.13% after Industries Qatar levelled up 1.89%, while the banking increased 0.49% as Qatar National Bank (QNB) went up 1.10%.

Meanwhile, the insurance sector was the bourse’s only decliner falling 1.10% as Qatar Insurance decreased 1.49%.

Qatar First Bank’s stock, which advanced 1.58%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 1.5 million shares, while Qatar Insurance’s stock topped the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 51.4 million.
