Aramco signs $10bn cooperation deals with 14 US firms

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Aramco has inked commercial cooperation agreements at a total value of more than SAR 10 billion with 14 American companies.

The deals were signed on the sidelines of the first day of the Saudi-US CEO Forum, which kicked off in New York late Tuesday, 27 March.

The development of of the state-owned crude producer’s operations and the strategic role of Saudi Vision 2030 will provide various opportunities to enhance collaboration between the kingdom and the US, CEO Amin Nasser said.

Investment opportunities will extend from digital technology to information security and other sectors as they will not be limited to oil and gas field, Nasser added.

The Middle Eastern oil giant signed deals with Schlumberger, Baker Hughes and Halliburton to buy downhole equipment and services, alongside wellhead and surface control equipment.

Furthermore, an agreement was signed by Saudi Aramco Nabors Drilling (SANAD) for onshore drilling.

The world's largest oil producer also inked an agreement with Weatherford to purchase downhole equipment and well-testing services, in addition to a deal with ARO Drilling for providing offshore drilling services.

In a bid to provide process automation systems, remote terminal units and control values, Saudi Aramco signed an agreement with Emerson Electric Company, as well as a deal with Texas Iron Works firm to purchase downhole equipment services.

Moreover, Aramco will buy from Honeywell International Inc. main automation contractor services for a new process control system (or promoting the existing ones), while it will develop cybersecurity services via Raytheon Company.

Google will provide services to explore the potential establishment of cloud services in the GCC nation, while the deal with National Geographic aims to develop the environmental and cultural levels, the Saudi Arabian Oil Company said.

In an effort to implement research and exchange knowledge in science, environment, and culture, Aramco signed a MoU with Smithsonian Institution, in addition to a deal with Center for Strategic & International Studies to advance joint research projects.
