Mubasher: The fourth and final phase of The Avenues Mall in Kuwait has been opened in Kuwait.

This $2 billion (KWD 600 million) project is owned by the Boursa-Kuwait listed Mabanee Co., which has collaborated with consultants Pace and Gensler on Phase 4, Construction Week Online reported.

The extension of The Avenues Mall will include four- and five-star hotels, a project official said.

“With a built-up area of 13ha, and total leasable area of 8.5ha, Phase 4 is worth $900 million (KWD 265 million),” the online portal added.

Following the launch of this final phase, The Avenues is expected to employ about 30,000 people, some of which will work on the facility's 300 new stores.

The mall was first inaugurated in 2007 and was put through a series of expansion plans that were overseen by Pace and Gensler consultants.

"The new districts include The Grand Plaza, a new public square that is inspired by civic squares around the world. A four-star Hilton Garden Inn and a luxury five-star Waldorf Astoria hotel will be developed as part of the new extension,” Tarek Shuaib, CEO of Pace, said.

CEO of Mabanee Co Waleed Al Shurian commented: "During the past 10 years, The Avenues has established itself as one of Kuwait’s most prominent touristic landmarks.”
