Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Thursday in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 1.61% or 131 points to 8,277.14 points.

TASI’s trading volume hit 250.26 million shares on Thursday, up from 242.4 million shares on Wednesday, while traded value soared to SAR 6 billion ($1.6 billion), from SAR 1.13 billion ($1.37 billion).

The media, banks, and materials sectors went up 9.18%, 2.6%, and 1.87%, respectively.

On the flipside, the insurance sector shed 0.48%, while the retailing segment inched down 0.45%.

Saudi Research and Marketing Group’s stock was the best performer after increasing 9.91% to SAR 91.40, whereas Al Alamiya for Cooperative Insurance’s stock declined 2.27% to SAR 30.20.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, ended Thursday down after falling 0.78% or 24.76 points to close at 3,167.63 points.

Abo Moati for Bookstores’ stock tumbled 5.24% to SAR 12.30, whereas the stock of Al Kathiri Holding and Development Works Food gained 10.87% and 6.41%, respectively.
