Mubasher: Nestle has reported a growth in sales during the first quarter of 2018.

Total sales increased by 1.4% to CHF 21.3 billion ($22.01 billion) in Q1-18, compared to CHF 21 billion ($21.7 billion) for the same period last year.

Net acquisitions had a positive impact of 0.2% and foreign exchange reduced sales by 1.6%, according to the statement of the food and beverages manufacturer.

The acquisition of Atrium Innovations was completed at the beginning of March and the sale of the U.S. confectionery business completed at the end of March

Nestle has strong sales in the Europe, Middle East and North Africa (EMENA) region, while sales in the United States also continued to grow steadily.

The company’s 2018 outlook of organic sales expects growth of between 2% and 4%, and restructuring costs of CHF 700 million.
