Qatargas delivers 1st LNG cargo to Bangladesh's Petrobangla
The first cargo is part of a long-term sale and purchase agreement (SPA) between the two companies

Mubasher: Qatargas, the world's largest producer of liquefied natural gas (LNG), announced the delivery of its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Bangladesh's state oil firm Petrobangla.

The first cargo is part of a long-term sale and purchase agreement (SPA) between the two companies, according to the Qatari state-owned firm's statement released late Wednesday.

The total capacity of the cargo stood at 138,000 cubic meters, Qatargas noted, giving no further details on its value.

"The successful delivery of our first LNG to Petrobangla highlights Qatar's continued leadership in bringing clean and reliable LNG to new markets and new customers." Saad Sherida al Kaabi, president and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, and Qatargas chairman, said.

In September 2017, the Qatari company had signed a long-term contract to supply Petrobangla with 2.5 million tonnes of LNG per year, for the coming 15 years.

“The first LNG delivery to Petrobangla reinforces Qatargas' continued commitment to ensuring energy security to its customers in Asia, as well as its position as a reliable supplier of LNG,” according to the statement.
