Riyadh – Mubasher: Sales of cement companies operating in Saudi Arabia registered a 9.52% year-on-year decrease in April 2018, compared to the same month a year earlier.
Cement sales hit 4.2 million tonnes in April, versus 4.64 million tonnes in the comparative period of 2017, according to the report released by Yamama Cement Co.
Total production of Saudi cement companies fell 7.4% to 4.2 million tonnes last month, from 4.54 million tonnes in the same month the year before, the report added.
On the flipside, cement inventories rose 4.6% to 1.19 million tonnes in April 2018, up from 1.13 million tonnes in the prior-year period.
Southern Province Cements Company’s (SPCC) sales decreased 1.8% to 542,000 tonnes in April, compared to 552,000 tonnes in the same month of 2017.
Year-on-year, Saudi Cement Co’s sales volume jumped 7.9% to 519,000 tonnes during April 2018, versus 481,000 tonnes.
Sales of Northern Region Cement Company went down 7% year-on-year to 106,000 tonnes last month, against 114,000 tonnes in April 2017.
