Mubasher: Vodafone Qatar has signed an agreement with Barwa Bank to receive a QAR 911 million ($250 million) facility.

The loan will be allocated to help accelerate the phone operator’s fixed-line service rollout and 5G deployment in the country, according to the company’s statement released on Monday.

The new step contributes to turning Qatar into one of the most connected and technologically advanced countries in the world, Vodafone Qatar noted.

The loan will be available for six years, the statement showed.

Vodafone Qatar’s profits reached QAR 17 million for the first quarter of 2018.

By the end of Monday’s session, Vodafone Qatar’s stock rose 1.16% at QAR 8.75.
