The deal is considered part of Aramco’s plans to develop its unconventional resources

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi state-run Aramco on Sunday has signed a contract with the US-based Halliburton to improve the unconventional gas stimulation services.

The deal is considered part of Aramco’s plans to develop its unconventional resources, as well as enhance its production to upgrade the chemicals sector, the world's largest oil producer added.

“Over the past three years, Saudi Aramco has made great strides in developing our unconventional resources program, with emphasis on unconventional gas as an important clean energy source for the Kingdom’s future,” Aramco CEO Amin Nasser said.

Aramco's agreement with Halliburton will contribute to achieving the firm’s plans in gas projects' expansions, Nasser added.

“[Aramco] welcomes [Halliburton] expertise in unconventional resources, and we have great confidence in our joint ability to achieve operational and cost efficiencies for this important growth area,” the Saudi official said.
