Dubai – Mubasher: The Roads & Transport Authority’s (RTA) board has approved handing over a contract to purchase 900 vehicles to the Dubai Taxi Corporation.

The 900 vehicles will be added to the taxis fleet in Dubai, the RTA said, noting that the 370 of these vehicles were environment friendly and operated using fuel and electricity.

The deal includes buying 142 Toyota Camrys, 193 Toyota Innovas, 55 Lexus vehicles, 370 Toyota Camry hybrids, and Toyota Hiace, RTA director general and chairman Mattar Al Tayer said.

The agreement also includes purchasing 15 Nissan Altimas, 123 Hyundai Sonatas, and Hyundai H1, Al Tayer added.

Under the deal, Al-Futtaim Motors and Juma Al Majid Group of Companies will be the project supervisors, provide technical support services, and offer trainings for Dubai Taxi employees.
