German investments in Egypt amount to $641 million now

Cairo – Mubasher: Trade exchange between Egypt and Germany rose by 5% in 2017 to reach EUR 5.8 billion, compared to EUR 5.56 billion in 2016.

German investments in Egypt amount to $641 million now over 1,080 projects in the fields of industry, services, agriculture, construction, communication, information technology (IT), and financing, Egyptian trade minister Amr Nasar said in a statement on Thursday.

Total Egyptian investments in Germany hit $35.5 million in the fields of financing, pharmaceuticals, furniture, medical devices, tourism, and trade, Nasar added.

This came on the sidelines of the minister’s meeting with the German ambassador to Cairo Julius Georg Luy to discuss the future of economic coordination between both countries in the trade and industrial sectors.

The Egyptian trade ministry currently aims to reinforce investment collaboration with all the countries across the world, particularly Europe, the first trade partner to Egypt.
