UAE-China trade exchange hits AED 196bn in 2017
The trade exchange included an AED 94.3 billion direct trade

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The bilateral trade between China and the UAE increased by 15.1%  year-on-year to AED 195.8 billion ($53.3 billion) in 2017, compared to AED 169 billion ($46.3 billion) a year earlier.

This growth resulted from a 37.4% YoY increase in re-exports and a 14.7% YoY increase in imports, which recorded AED 12.8 billion and AED 177.4 billion, respectively, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported, according to a report released by the UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF).

The trade exchange between both countries included an AED 94.3 billion direct trade and an AED 101.5 billion free zones trade.

“The report explained that the trade value of imported phone devices reached $6.509 billion (AED23.9 billion) while for equipment used to process data and magnetic and visual readers, this value reached $1.480 billion (AED5.4 billion),” WAM revealed.
