Cairo – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has announced that it will toughen import procedures of agricultural products from Egypt during this period.

The Egyptian agricultural exports to the kingdom must be free of residues of pesticide and heavy metals, and Hepatitis A disease, according to Egyptian newspaper Al Boursa.

It is worth noting that the GCC nation is the biggest export market for Egypt’s agricultural products. In the previous season, the rich-oil country imported 749,000 tonnes of Egyptian agricultural imports at a combined value of $390 million.

In May, Saudi Arabia approved agricultural products from Egyptian certified authorities at the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA.

In April, SFDA decided to lift the temporary ban on Egyptian imports of frozen guava.
