Cairo – Mubasher: Telecom Egypt (TE) and Orange Egypt announced signing three telecom agreements in an effort to continue providing the customers with the best offers and international services.

The two telecommunications firms inked an initial deal to renew the international telecom services agreement, which had firstly signed in January 2015 for a four-year period. The new one will end in December 2022, according to TE’s statement issued late Monday.

It is expected that the agreement will contribute around EGP 4 billion to Telecom Egypt’s top-line over its tenure, the state's landline monopoly noted.

“The signing of these agreements with Orange Egypt supports our long-term relationship with the company as a strategic partner,” Ahmed El Beheiry, TE’s managing director and CEO, commented.

Moreover, the two companies signed a new transmission services deal for 3 years and a half period, ending in December 2021.

The agreement will contribute EGP 1.5 billion to TE’s revenue and support Orange to improve its offered services, the statement showed.

“Our model of long-term agreements with the domestic MNOs in the field of transmission and international telecom services aims to secure our revenue stream from these segments, while providing the MNOs with competitive offers commercially and technically that meet their needs,” El Beheiry added.

In the same vein, TE and Orange signed a binding letter of agreement for mobile termination rates.

“The three agreements will support Orange in its leadership of providing telecom services of high quality and speed to its customers in the Egyptian market,” Yasser Shaker, CEO of Orange Egypt, noted.
