QSE gains 173 pts at Tuesday’s closing
The banking sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 3.67%

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Tuesday’s trading in green territory, encouraged by the growth of six sectors.

The general index rose 173.34 points, or 1.80%, to finish at 9,825.11 points.

The bourse’s liquidity increased to QAR 368.38 million on Tuesday from QAR 241.89 million on Monday, while the trading volume levelled up to 10.24 million shares against 8.42 million in the previous session.

The banking sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 3.67% as the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) jumped 5.42% to QAR 175, hitting the highest price since November 2014.

Similarly, the real estate sector rose 1.28% on the back of Ezdan Holding Group’s 2.26% increase.

The industrial sector levelled up 0.41% after Aamal Company and Industries Qatar grew 1.59% and 0.40%, respectively.

On the negative side, the transportation sector was the bourse’s only decliner falling 0.09%, dragged by Qatar Gas Transport’s (Nakilat) 0.65% drop.

By the end of the session, QNB’s stock led the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 88.2 million, while Qatar First Bank’s (QFB) stock, which retreated 3.03%, spearheaded the market in terms of trading volume with 1.2 million shares.
