Many pros make ADX more advantageous than DFM
The DFM suffers a shortage in liquidity

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Investors in the UAE markets have noticed various advantages attracting them to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) on top of which the positive disclosures of some listed banks.

These pros also include the ADI’s continuous increases since June, along with high ratings of the market resulted from active trading, Ziad Al-Qamiri, a member at the American Academy of Financial Management, told Mubasher.

On the other hand, the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) is still seen negatively by investors, despite the building of some positions in the market, he added.

The DFM suffers a shortage in liquidity, a fact that could lure investors who aim at hunting low-priced stocks and – consequently – boost the market, the analyst noted.

There are points that raised investors’ concerns about the DFM’s performance outlook, which include the US sanctions against Iran and Emaar’s unclear dividend policy and asset liquidation plans, senior financial analyst at Mena Corp Issam Kassabieh said.

Some concerns are also hovering over Emirates NBD which plans to acquire Russia’s wholly-owned Turkish unit Denizbank, given Washington’s latest sanctions against Ankara, which could destabilise the European country’s economy, Kassabieh remarked.
