Aramco to choose bidder for developing $6bn Berri oilfield
The project's work scope entails developing Saudi Arabia’s east coast Berri offshore oilfield

Riyadh – Mubasher: State-run Saudi Aramco has announced prequalifying six companies for establishing Berri Offshore Oilfield Increment Programme project at SAR 22.5 billion ($6 billion) in investments.

One of the six contenders, comprising UAE’s National Petroleum Construction, Italy-based Saipem, Oslo-listed Subsea-7, the US-based Dynamic Industries and McDermott, and India’s Larsen & Toubro (L&T)will win the construction of the project.

The project's work scope entails developing Saudi Arabia’s east coast Berri offshore oilfield, including the development of ten production deck modules, in addition to subsea pipelines, a tie-in platform, and PDM for water injection.

Upon the completion of the project, it will help in producing more 250,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil, the world's largest oil producer noted.

Aramco has not revealed any further details about the six bidders who will be responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) works in the project.

“The state giant is currently assessing proposals from several companies applying to be added to the LTA list – partly as a response to the strains created by the current workload – but a decision is unlikely to be made in time to affect the Berri selection,” according to NewsBase’s report.
