Cairo – Mubasher: Hikma Pharmaceuticals’ investments in the Egyptian market range between $250 million and $300 million, the firm’s managing director in Egypt said on Monday.

Speaking on the sidelines of a press conference organised by Egypt’s Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation, Massoud Abdel-Majid revealed that the Jordan-based pharmaceutical firm had three plants across Egypt. 

Employing around 1,500 people, the plants are spread between Beni Soueif and the Sixth of October. 

We are looking to build more pharmaceutical factories in Egypt, Abdel-Majid revealed, noting that the sector was likely to attract major investments in the coming period.

Globally, Hikma has 27 plants across 11 countries.
