Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his US counterpart Donald Trump have discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries and means of boosting American investments in Egypt.

This came on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly, according to the Egyptian Presidency's statement.

Both parties have discussed a number of regional files, mainly the current situation in each of Libya, Syria, and Yemen, in addition to the Palestinian-Israeli conflicts and how to revive the peace process.

El Sisi highlighted Egypt's full support to the Palestinian issue and the importance to reach a fair comprehensive solution that guarantees the rights of Palestinian people to establish an independent state in accordance with the international authorities.

Egypt is well to strengthen relations between the two countries to reinforce peace and stability in the Middle East, the Egyptian president said.

The most populous Arab country is looking forward to further collaboration and talks with the US on various issues in the region, mainly counterterrorism, the biggest threat to the region’s and the world’s stability, he added.

The US president praised the successful measures taken to reform the Egyptian economy, emphasising his country’s desire to boost trade exchange volume between the two countries, as well as bolster mutual investments.

Trump noted that Egypt is a pivotal partner to the US in fighting terrorism, stressing that the US is fully supporting the North African nation’s efforts in this regard.
