Riyadh – Mubasher: Sahara Petrochemicals Company on Sunday announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sahara Marketing Company (SMC), has started marketing operations on 11 October.

The marketing unit has entered into a long-term agreement with Al-Waha Petrochemicals Company to market and sell polypropylene in the GCC region, Sahara added in a statement to the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul).

SMC will carry on adding further petrochemical products to its marketing portfolio, as well as maintain its geographical expansion in the future in line with the strategy of Sahara, according to the statement.

Sahara also revealed that its affiliate Al-Waha has renegotiated its long-term Polypropylene off-take agreement with Basell Sales and Marketing Company in order to allow SMC to market and sell its products.

In September, Sahara said that maintenance operations at its subsidiary Al Waha Petrochemical's plants were completed.

Al Waha Petrochemical is 75%-owned by Saudi-listed Sahara.
